What's VEAGANIE Ethical?

What is ethical fashion?

Ethical fashion has several definitions and interpretations. One that we like and feel is a clear definition is as follows: ethical fashion is an umbrella term to describe ethical fashion design, production, retail, and purchasing. It covers a range of issues such as working conditions, exploitation, fair trade, sustainable production, the environment, and animal welfare.
In our view, ethical fashion aims to address or solve the problems it sees with the way the fashion industry operates today, such as “exploitative labor” “Child workers” “environmental impact” and “Animal cruelty”.
There are varying definitions of ethical ideas. The point is, you can choose your ethical lifestyle matching to your way of living and thoughts.

What is fair trade?

Fair trade is trade which maximizes benefits to workers, producers and environment.
It aims to create sustainable business opportunities for workers and producers in especially developing countries who have been economically disadvantaged or marginalized by the conventional trading system.
The purpose of fair trade is to provide a counter to abusive low cost manufacturing and production which uses environmentally unfriendly means such as over toxic pesticide and chemical use and exploits cheap and venerable labor system including child labor.
At VEGANIE, our production partner, for exmanple SASHA is a member of WFTO (World fair trade organization).
